La casa de la Estancia Las Cañadas, es antigua, pero confortable. Su arquitectura es de estilo clásico, que se hacía en el Uruguay en el siglo pasado. Techos de zinc, y grandes dimensiones. No espere un hotel recién hecho tipo Miami!!. En verano es muy fresca, porque tiene paredes muy anchas, y en invierno cálida, ya que tiene 10 estufas a leña. Hay habitaciones con baños en suite. También departamentos familiares, (2 de las habitaciones comparten un baño) que sirven para estar padres e hijos en un sector y obtener un mejor precio. La casa se puede alquilar y reservar por cuarto o toda la casa. La Estancia Las Cañadas es para estar «desconectado». Estamos fuera del alcance de una buena conexión celular, pero la verdad, es que ayuda a relajarse, saber, que no te pueden llamar… Para recibir o enviar mensajes, tiene que subirse al tanque australiano, o en algunos lugares de la casa donde hay señal. Es un aventura, pero se puede lograr, en lugares especiales. Quizás se tenga que subir al tanque de agua…!!!! No tenemos ni wifi, ni tv, ni piscinas. Si hay agua caliente en todos los baños. Tenemos para los que gusten, lavadora, y también las antiguas piletas de cemento para lavar, freezers y heladeras, micro-onda, cocina de hierro a leña, que es un lujo para el invierno!, cocina a gas, batidora, juguera, etc. Los cuartos, sin ser suntuosos, tienen buenas dimensiones, como para sentirse muy cómodos, con ventanales, tejidos mosquiteros para los que le tienen miedo a los bichos. También tenemos unas galerías maravillosas, para sentarse a observar el atardecer y sentir los sonidos del campo. Hay un tanque australiano, que hace de piscina durante el verano. Pero no nos olvidemos que la estancia está rodeada de Cañadas, arroyos y lagunas que se puede ir caminando y disfrutar de la naturaleza en toda su magnitud. La casa tiene bibliotecas con unos 2000 libros, nunca los contamos. En varios idiomas, y una gran colección de los clásicos Uruguayos. En el verano, y si el tiempo lo permite en otras estaciones, se desayuna, almuerza y cena en las galerías, con vistas preciosas al campo, disfrutando de los caballos y pájaros que andan casi siempre cerca, para que nos podamos deleitar observándolos.
ROOMS AND LIVING ROOM
The house at Estancia Las Cañadas is old but comfortable. Its architecture has a classic style that was made in Uruguay during the last Century with zinc roofs and big dimensions. You won’t find a Miami like hotel!!! During summer is very fresh due to its wide walls, and in the winter is warm due to its 10 wood fire places. There are rooms with bathrooms in suite. Also, you will find family rooms on where 2 rooms are sharing a bathroom, which will be an excellent choice to be together and get a better price. The house can be rented or reserved just for a room or the whole house. The Estancia Las Cañadas is the way to be totally «disconnected» since the farm is far from a good cellular signal, but really it will help you to relax, knowing that you will be out of range most of the time. In order to receive or send text messages, you will need to «climb» into the Australian Tank, or find the places that have cellular signal around the house. It is an adventure but it can be achieved on special places. Most probably, you must climb on top the water tank….!!! There is no TV, no WIFI, or swimming pools. But we have hot water on every bathroom in the house. We also have laundry machines, old cement wash basins for washing clothes, freezers and refrigerators, microwave, firewood iron stove (which is a luxury during the winter), gas stove, mixer, juicing machine, etc. The rooms, without being sumptuous, have good dimensions, to feel comfortable, with large windows, mosquito net fabric for those who are scared of insects. We also have wonderful galleries, in order to enjoy the sunset and hear the farm sounds of nature. It also has an Australian tank which, during summer, will work as a swimming pool. But, we need to keep in mind that the farm is surrounded of small stream rivers and small lagoons, within walking distance, and as well, you are able to enjoy the nature in all its magnitude. The house has a library with around 2000 titles, it has never been counted exactly, but they are in different languages and a vast collection of Uruguayan classics. During summer and weather permitting during the rest of the year, you will be able to take breakfast, lunch or dinner in the galleries, enjoying beautiful views, the horses or birds that are very close most of the time.
